Angela
Amidst all the bad news, Stuttgart's principal dancer Alicia Amatriain had a baby girl yesterday. The father is soloist Alexander McGowan. The whole Stuttgart Ballet is in self-quarantine at home because after a recent tour, one of the staff was tested positive with Corona. Neither Amatrain nor McGowan were on the tour, so they and their baby are safe.

Don Q Fan
Please note that Bavarian State Opera are now streaming JEWELS on Saturday 21/3 instead of Swan Lake I think because the show isn't actually being performed to be live streamed. This is the Jewels that was live streamed last year ( I remember being really cross with Somova for wearing her own Mariinsky tutu for Diamonds - it was so old, greying and grubby looking which ruined the overall look as BSB had all beautiful shiny new costumes - Somova stuck out like a sore thumb yikes!)

Angela
Stuttgart Ballet will stream Marcia Haydée's Sleeping Beauty from today, 18 CET, until March 31 - on their website and on their Youtube-Channel Cast: Elisa Badenes, Friedemann Vogel, Miricam Kacerova and Jason Reilly as Carabosse. Lizbie1
Please can any of our German specialists confirm whether today's announcement from Mrs Merkel means that the rest of the season is now off? Does the decision about large gatherings - how large is large? - get passed on to each region to implement as it chooses, as seemed to be the case when things were being shut down? (I'm assuming they'll all comply anyway.)

For the avoidance of doubt: I'm not expecting there to be any more performances, I'm just looking for formal confirmation, or a route to it. Based on today's conference - theatres and opera houses (and other cultural venues) remain closed & there is no timeframe mentioned - no large events prior to 31 Aug. There's no definition as to what constitutes a 'large' event in the document that was the basis for the news conference but I've seen a couple of articles that state that this will be defined by the various states - the measures as to what will reopen / remain closed etc. will be reviewed every two weeks Added link to article that links to the document that was the basis for the news conference today https://m.faz.net/aktuell/politik/inland/bund-und-laender-einig-kleine-schritte-zurueck-ins-leben-16726909.html Edited April 15, 2020 by Duck Added link

toursenlair
From the Deutsche Welle news site: Bars, restaurants, day care centers, theaters, and cinemas will stay closed until further notice. Religious gatherings are also canceled for the foreseeable future. The theatres need to update their websites though. At the moment you can still buy tickets online for Stuttgart Ballet for performances after April 19! No doubt that will get fixed tomorrow. I *think* that the guidance document technically only extends closure as far as 3rd May (to be reviewed fortnightly, as Duck says above), but I imagine many theatres and companies will be tempted to throw in the towel at this point.
