zxDaveM
Blimey - looking on the ROH website, and they have marked all Nutcrackers up to and including the 3rd Jan as cancelled. Is everyone else getting that? I've not had an email about it as yet - has anyone?

zxDaveM
Some, but not all, operas also cancelled (and some of the Linbury shows). I suppose its down to who amongst the cast has been ill and/or isolating
Sim
From the web page: Due to resource challenges caused by the Omicron COVID-19 variant, performances of The Nutcracker between Tuesday 21 December 2021 and Monday 3 January 2022 (inclusive) have been cancelled. Ticket bookers for all affected performances have been contacted by Box Office.
Mary
It is terribly sad for the ROH and all concerned. Lots of museums closing as well I see- London has been swept by a tsunami of covid.
Sim
Besides feeling sorry for myself because of this, I feel even more sorry for all the dancers and staff. Just as things were getting back to some kind of sanity and normality, they are scuppered once again. I was particularly looking forward to Anna-Rose O'Sullivan's SPF debut. I hope they all get better soon and are fit and healthy in the New Year.
zxDaveM
not been messaged as yet, but what desperately bad luck for everyone. The RB/ROH for the hole in the bank balance; and the dancers who will miss their performances/debuts - and of course us fans who wanted to see our fave dancers, and enjoy the atmosphere of a live performance. So sad for all concerned, including me
Rob S
The pics of Magri and O'Sullivan as SPF that they posted on Instagram after their stage calls did make me a little sad that they may not happen☹️
Peony
Very sad, unfortunately probably inevitable at the moment though.

Lizbie1
Can we see a silver lining in Dawnstar not missing Magri's debut? ETA: or at the least not having a dilemma over it. 🙂 Edited December 20, 2021 by Lizbie1

Blossom
This is devastating for the company but at least they have managed to hold out for so long vs others.
LinMM
That’s first thing I thought when saw this message Lizbie! But what a shame though for everybody concerned and all the uncertainty again ....it’s all getting so boring now this Covid. I know it can’t be helped but please can it finally go away in 2022!! art_enthusiast
I won't be seeing the Nutcracker at all then, as I believe there are hardly any tickets available after January 3rd. Oh well - I hope they all recover soon, extremely sad for Magri/O'Sullivan and the others debuting roles. I was especially looking forward to seeing Magri in the SPF role.
bridiem
They've clearly been performing heroics by keeping going through all the cast changes of recent performances. They're all stars, every one of them.

bridiem
So sad for Romany Pajdak, whose debut as Clara has been cancelled again. I so hope that she does finally get to perform it on 5th January.

maryrosesatonapin
I've not been notified yet so thanks for pointing it out, @zxDaveM . We had booked Nutcracker with dinner beforehand at the ROH for my birthday on 3rd January. I guess we'll be staying at home now then!
art_enthusiast
Bit confused though because opera on the main stage seems more unaffected. Nabucco today and Tosca on Wednesday seem to be going ahead this week. And Wolf Witch Giant Fairy on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Maybe that will happen again, but I don't know.
