jmhopton
Tried and failed to get the very accessible winter casting format put out by the Royal Ballet for the autumn period so I emailed the website customer services (website.customerservices.roh.org.uk if anyone wants it) and they very helpfully sent it to me as an attachment. Tried for an hour to copy it here as an attachment and failed (they sent it as a read-only document and a pdf which I had to change to Word) so here is the complete thing. Moderators please remove it if it is too space consuming or feel free to re-format it. I've printed it off for myself. it's great for booking even though I haven't fully booked for autumn yet! I'll say one last thing....if he is never going to be shown in the cinema showings as the male lead in the classics, why did KOH ever promote him in the first place given his age? Seems odd. I honestly don't know how some of these dancers stay motivated in the face of what looks like "favoritsm" (same goes for those who are hardly featured this season, particularly the two dancers that have already been mentioned by others). Good thing I'm not a dancer! Lol That seems a little extreme, Happyturk. To be a Principal at one of the world’s leading ballet company’s is surely a demonstration of the talent and ability of that dancer. Yes, it must be a nice dollop of icing on the cake to appear at the cinema but, equally it’s hardly career shattering if you don’t. Personally, I have not appreciated Hirano as much since he became a Principal and he is not my first choice for a performance. But his work rate over the past two injury laden years at RB has been prodigious which means he has had the opportunity to dance so many roles and broaden his experience. Surely a dancer can’t ask much more?

I tried repeatedly to do this using the 'choose files' option as I have done before but for some reason it didn't come up in my documents list when I searched from the forum even though it did seem to be there. I also tried the paperclip option but didn't really know how it worked; how to drag a document file from my hard drive to the Forum.
Riva
Does anyone know if Fumi Kaneko has danced Odette/Odile with the company previously? I’d thought this was a role debut for her but don’t see the asterix next to her name that usually signifies a debut.

Bluebird
The cast list above appears to make a distinction between “guest artist” (Thiago Soares) and “principal guest artist” (David Hallberg). If I remember correctly, Carlos Acosta used to be referred to as a principal guest artist. If Hallberg has been given the same title, might this explain why he is cast so frequently? Edited to add that I have looked at an old company list and “principal guest artist” was also the title given to Sylvie Guillem. I'm reluctant to speculate but, surely, it is because Osipova likes to dance with Hallberg. They both talk about this frequently. If anyone is going to become 'Principal Guest Artist' with a permanent status, I can think of far better candidates - dancers whose occasional appearances have caused a real buzz, of the kind which Hallberg has not. [I've been asking myself why I feel quite strongly about this and I think that it is that 1) a regular guest should really be 'something special' and give absolutely top notch performances and 2) I am (perhaps overly) conscious of the needs of the RB's young, up-and-coming dancers (who I would actually rather see perform). Maybe the subject of companies using guest principals merits a separate thread?]
JNC
Hope this works...I emailed ROH and they responded very quickly so top marks for customer service. (Why they don't just put this online in the first place though to save that additional admin...it's hardly confidential information! Maybe it's because it would take away from people continually checking the websites and reducing their 'hit rate'?) @jmhopton it seems I am able to successfully download the file you uploaded, sorry I didn't realise you were able to upload due to the discussion. This is a PDF anyway rather than word so at least it's not a complete duplication! Lizbie1
Just had a look at Winter pricing: Swan Lake is I think the same as the Autumn Sleeping Beauty (i.e. steep); Onegin is the same as Manon; and the Marston/Scarlett bill is the same as the Concerto mixed bill.
