alison
This site can exclusively reveal today that the BBC has decided to change the way it judges contestants in its biennial BBC Young Dancer competition. A BBC insider said: "Following the success of The Greatest Dancer, we've realised that we are out of touch with regards to assessing performance quality. So, as audience involvement is now paramount, BBCYD contestants going forward will be judged partially on the modern equivalent of a clapometer, which will record the level of whoops, hollers and whistles, and dancers will score extra for such things as showiness of execution, acrobatic tricks, number of obstacles on their journey to date, emotional appeal and setbacks overcome. Plus, since research indicates that people's attention span is decreasing significantly, dancers will now only have 60 seconds in which to impress their judges. Oh, and we're getting rid of those experts too, because the British public have shown they are more than capable of deciding the outcome themselves." The BBC Young Dancer competition will be broadcast later this month. The Greatest Dancer returns for a second series next year.

I wouldn't suggest this to the BBC as they might take it up !
