It is exactly the same as the one the National Ballet of Canada brought to Sadlers Wells a few years ago, and yes, it takes most of 3 hours.

alison
Be aware that the Lady of the Camellias on Feb 4th (in the UK) is a repeat, and consequently is on at all sorts of funny times, including lunchtime, depending on the venue.

Yes, be warned: as I discovered to my cost, it is not only on at various times but also on different *days* depending on cinema. They are only calling this showing 'live': it is a recording so they can show it whenever. In fact the most convenient cinema to me is only showing it on, oh, Tuesday lunchtime! Amelia
Thank you, Geoff, for this warning. I planned to go sheepishly to Clapham Picturehouse tomorrow for 3 pm as they usually do it on Sundays. Checked their website after reading your post and discovered that "The Lady..." will be shown on Tuesday 6th Feb. at 12:00.

Shade
Managed to check my local Odeon and realised that "lady " was being show at 2.00 not 4.00! Just got therein time but it was worth it to see this as I missed it first time round. Good to see so many dancers as well as the principals. Wonderful music.
Bruce Wall
Cast for 4th March's Flames of Paris now up on the Bolshoi website https://www.bolshoi.ru/en/performances/235/roles/#20180304180000 Surprised at Shrainer being cast as Jeanne. Hard to forget that unfortunate Kitri she delivered in London when Ovcharenko (her Basilio) would not share the front of curtain calls out of seeming (and IMHO deserved) embarrassment. It may be she has improved dramatically since that time. Perhaps someone who watches the Company closely might advise.

However, casting a dancer that few people abroad know much about is a bold move by Vaziev and one which several posters on other BCF threads wish the RB would emulate. Beryl H
There's a very good review of Margarita Shrainer's debut in April as Swanhilda in the new Dance Europe, I was going to give the cinema a miss but not sure now!
Shade
Thanks Beryl. I will try to watch this as the Bolshoi's Coppelia is a lovely production.
Sebastian
Having been unable to get to any screenings of Coppelia, I am hoping to catch a repeat screening soon. However the Bolshoi website, although it promotes Coppelia, doesn't seem to list the show, not even the ones yesterday: https://www.bolshoiballetcinema.co.uk What am I doing wrong? I am sure the information is online somewhere but can't find it. Edited June 11, 2018 by Sebastian
alison
I'm afraid there are no repeat screenings of the Bolshoi broadcasts, Sebastian . Your only chance is if they decide to include it again in a forthcoming season, as they sometimes do.
stucha
If it's of any consolation, the complete Bolshoi Coppelia can be found on YouTube with Osipova and Lopatin from 2009 or so.
