  1. Having attended all of the "Ashton Rediscovered" masterclasses so far, we will not be attending the Carlos Acosta masterclass. This seems very out of keeping with the other masterclasses which dealt with lost or dormant works and where the masterclass has been led by someone who worked with Ashton on the relevant piece. I don't categorise Acosta as an Ashton specialist and I don't think Fille or Rhapsody are really pieces that need to be "rediscovered".
  2. And one tends to get better seats that way than those of us premium 2 friends who book during our priority window!
  3. 4 hours for the Ring is still overblown when you consider my first encounter with the Ring was the Reduced Shakespeare Company's version, which (being on Channel 4) came in at a little under 30 minutes, and Anna Russell manages it in 21.5! 😎
  4. Such wonderful and heart-warming news; thanks for sharing this John.
  5. They have - I remember wonderful performances by Ivan Putrov, Deirdre Chapman and Carlos Acosta.
  6. I was pleased to see at least one contributor to this thread say "step-sisters", not "ugly sisters". The former is correct, as per the original dramatis personae and programme note.
  7. It should be. Casting for full lengths is normally announced before patrons booking starts, though sometimes it's just before premium 2 friends booking.
  8. The easy to print casting for the Autumn season is here. No need to thank me, or for producing the list of the winter casting that has been announced so far, posted earlier in the thread.
  9. I have posted the available casting for the winter period shows on the winter period thread.

  11. As mentioned above, if you click through to the individual show pages, you get more casting details (such as the principal couple in 2 Pigs).
  12. I was checking something in David Vaughan's Ashton over the weekend and noticed that the "red girls" in the first revival of Les Patineurs were Beryl Grey and Gillian Lynne. What I would have paid to see that!!
  13. As I said on the mixed bills page, you need to click through to the individual show pages.
  14. Some mixed bill casting is up too (Blue Boy in Pats, Asphodel Meadows, Two Pigeons, Winter Dreams, solo lady in The Concert) - easiest to follow the links to the individual show pages from the calendar.
  15. 6 of the RB's current principals: Ball, Cuthbertson, Hayward, Morera, Naghdi and Watson.
  16. Just to mention that Enigma Variations was last performed by RB at ROH in 2011 and I recall Bennet Gartside as an excellent Elgar.
  17. I don't think we can really say Dowell commissioned the Makarova production, as she had already set it on ABT a number of years earlier (with Dowell as Solor). Apologies if I have misinterpreted.
