  1. I had a confirmation query alert a moment ago when I marked the site read.
  2. personally I don’t think the Robbins estate will permit filming for public consumption (and I imagine it may be the same with a number of the other rights owners).
  3. A reminder that posting photos that are subject to copyright is not permitted on this forum, unless you are the copyright holder or have permission to do so.
  4. Some may find it interesting that Petipa’s instructions to Tchaikovsky for the music included a pd4 for Cinderella and Prince Fortuné and The Blue Bird and Princess Florine. “A little andante. The music represents the singing of birds. Variations for Cinderella and Prince Portuné of a passionate character. 32 b[ars]. Variations for the Blue Bird and Princess Florine. 2/4 singing of bird. 24 bars. Little coda in 64 b[ars]. They kiss, like birds.” Tchaikovsky wrote as requested (the waltz for Cinderella having hints of the Lilac Fairy music in it) but in the course of putting on the first production, the Cinderella music was cut and a new pd2 for Cinderella and Prince written, which appeared later in act 3 (after Red Riding Hood). Also, the first libretto of the ballet lists the following fairytales in the procession at the beginning of act 3: Bluebeard and his wife Puss in Boots Marquis de Carabas, in a sedan chair, with his lackeys Goldilocks and Prince Avenant Donkey-skin and Prince Charming Beauty and the Beast Cinderella and Prince Fortuné The Blue Bird and Princess Florine The White Cat, carried in on a pillow Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf Ricky of the Tuft and Princess Aimée Tom Thumb and his brothers The Ogre and Ogress
  5. Hi, the moderators have received a number of reports about this thread. As another moderator has already noted above, the moderators have determined that the thread does not breach AUP. If you feel the post does not deserve to be seen, just ignore it and it will drift down the board into obscurity (as another moderator has already said). If you are concerned that the original poster (OP) does not respond to advice given on the board, then I would recommend you ignore the OP.
  6. Just to be clear, the Channel Islands (including Jersey) and the Isle of Man are not part of the UK. Residents there do not (generally speaking) pay tax to the UK and so do not receive benefits from the UK exchequer.

  8. There is a performance at the Palladium tomorrow to test the systems; tickets are free to members of the public (available up to noon today).
  9. Members of the ROH orchestra took part in this trial (there have been pictures on social media).
  10. Elmhurst's patron is HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, Acosta is their Vice President. Elmhurst became the BRB's associate school in 2004 and the RBS has always been closely connected to the two Royal companies, so I don't think there's much change in any dynamics here. Bintley was Artistic Advisor at Elmhurst when he was director of BRB. It's also worth noting that Acosta's appointment as a governor of the RBS is ex-officio, i.e. it's by virtue of his position as director of BRB.
  11. Antibody tests are to see if you’ve had something not to test if you currently have it! Different tests, innit.
  12. It is indeed new money to be made available. ACE have announced details of emergency grants made to their NPOs, making it clear that entities that are not currently in urgent need (though they may have longer term issues) did not receive funding in this round. Amongst other entities to receive funding, the list includes Ballet Black, Contemporary Dance Trust, ENB, Hofesh Shechter Company, Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company, Northern Ballet, Rambert and Sadler’s Wells.
  13. As noted above they are publicly available from the Charity Commission (along with previous years) but I have attached the pdf for ease of reference. ROH accounts 2018.pdf
  14. Tristan Dyer has today announced that he has left the Royal Ballet.
