  1. £1,000 is not for a table, it's for one seat (plus some extras). One can, of course, get a good seat and a place at dinner for only £550...
  2. That doesn't mean it's a Friends only event. If it were a Friends only event I would expect it to say so.
  3. I don't see anything in the email to suggest this is for Friends only (the link is to the ROH YouTube channel landing page).
  4. Many , many thanks. It hasn’t let me down yet!
  5. Hello friends. I’m joining The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the City of London next month in sleeping out in Guildhall Yard. I’m doing this to raise awareness of homelessness issues and also to fundraise for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal (supporting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, National numeracy, Place 2Be, OnSide and The Samaritans) and the Spitalfields Crypt Trust, providing practical support to those in East London dealing with homelessness, addictions and other complex needs. I’d be very grateful if you could spare a few pennies and sponsor me here or, if not, spare a few thoughts for those less fortunate. Thanks for reading.
  6. Just to flag that Spring Draft Works is now available for booking for Friends+ and above (so I assume all Winter Draft Works tickets have been reallocated). Booking for Young Friends and Friends opens at 0900 tomorrow (8 Feb) and public booking at 0900 on 22 February.
  7. Just for a bit of balance (and being a season ticket holder for the current champions of Europe), I can confirm that I have seen more patrons taking cocaine in cultural venues (including the ROH) than I have football supporters.
  8. At the Royal Ballet, Mr. Clark is the head of music whilst Mr. Clarke is a first soloist. Let's respect people by getting their names correct.
  9. £15 for Moët (brut NV), £18 for Ruinart (brut NV)
  10. There are many significantly better pieces for Bonelli’s swan song IMHO
  11. This is great news for Bonelli and for NB (and might explain why I bumped into the NB Chairman on the ROH terrace a couple of days ago)!
  12. I wouldn't sit there (unless it's the aisle seat on the side block). I'm 5'4.
  13. The de Bryan family has been in England (with land) for the best part of 1000 years (those Normans get everywhere after William 1 came called - note the name used as I'm currently sitting in the City of London). Whilst some branches of the family have dropped the "de", others have retained it.
  14. Do you question why Matthew Bourne's reworked Swan Lake doesn't contain much of the usual steps from Petipa's Swan Lake? It has always been clear that the new ENB Raymonda was a reworking of the piece. As such, I expected a reworking and I saw a reworking.
  15. And for ten years before the current director, the director and her associate director were women. Swings and roundabouts and the best person for the job. The current director's number 2 and 3 (in seniority) are female.
  16. Are you suggesting you don't respect the Senior Ballet Mistress, the Ballet Mistress, the Assistant Ballet Mistress, the Administrative Director, the Senior Benesh Choreologist, the Company Manager and the Creative Producer, the Senior Producer, Producer, Administrative Producer and Assistant Producer? [sorry, belligerence being used for artistic purposes]. Also worth noting that the chair and vice-chair of governors are female.
