  1. If you are walking from City Thameslink to the ROH, remember to use the Ludgate Hill exit (back of the train if coming from the south). It's a longer walk if you use the other exit. It's a slightly longer walk from Blackfriars (just a few more minutes) but you can walk along the river so it's rather pleasant.
  2. This season ended with two dancers hanging in the air above a bed...
  3. I'm not sure that's right. Aren't the slips seats under "slips" rather than "amphitheatre"? In which case, the best slips seats for Flute are £28, not £15, which is what I would expect. That said, the amphi pricing for Beauty still doesn't make a lot of sense and I wouldn't be surprised to learn in due course that it's a mistake in the pricing paper.
  4. Hopefully Mackay will settle in Munich. He's been a bit of a rover so far.
  5. I checked with the Friends office earlier and the 16 December in class event will be in the Winter booking period.
  6. From where? The Royal Ballet was required to reduce headcount less than two years ago and the ROH is still looking to supporters to try to get funding back to pre-pandemic levels.
  7. As I’m now going to Wimbledon that day, I have the following tickets available for the RBS @ OHP on Saturday 9 July: 1400 performance: A10 - face value £30 1900 performance: A31 & A32 - face value £70 for the pair. Please PM if interested - tickets can be emailed.
  8. Yes, emails to the myWimbledon mailing list come from The AELTC, Wimbledon.
  9. This is what the production page says: View priority booking dates General: 27 July 2022, 9am Friends: 5 July 2022, 9am Young Friends: 5 July 2022, 9am Friends+: 28 June 2022, 9am Supporting Friends: 21 June 2022, 9am Premium 1 Friends: 21 June 2022, 9am Premium 2 Friends: 21 June 2022, 9am Still no sign of the RB In Class on the main stage on 16 December...
  10. Actually “the judges” didn’t. The members of the dance section of the Critics Circle (I believe there are 60 of them) have a period after the end of the qualifying year to submit recommendations. From that come the shortlists and then all members vote for the winner in each category. All that takes a bit of time, bearing in mind that those involved in the process also have a “day job”. The timing of the ceremony also needs to take into account the ability of nominees to attend. Before the pandemic the qualifying period was September to August with the awards the following February. The 2020 qualifying period was extended to December due to the prevailing circumstances. Following that, the qualifying period is now January to December.
  11. Two of my favourite pictures from the ceremony, Ivan Putrov with his mother (so lovely to see them both) and Beatriz Stix-Brunell with Joseph Sissens.
  12. One lovely moment from the ceremony that is worth recording here is when Sir Matthew Bourne received the award for Best Modern Choreography for The Midnight Bell, he reminded everyone that the credit in the programme is Matthew Bourne and Company, so he invited the dancers to join him on stage!
  13. I was there so I saw her speech. She dedicated her award to a number of people, including her parents and her life partner, before finishing up with Romeo.
  14. I had no issues with booking this morning (over 40 performances/events), other than one event not being on the system and having to split the overall order into two sessions as at 20 minutes I was nervous that I wouldn't finish in 30 minutes (I probably would have done but better to be safe!). I used the back button in my browser to go back to book multiple shows as, unlike the old system, I didn't get "stuck" on a booking page reloading. I found the new calendar very useful as the month navigation function is pinned to the top of the screen. I was using Safari on my iPad.
  15. TBH I didn't see very much MacMillan influence in any of the pd2s.
  16. Thanks to @Bluebird here is the revised casting as a pdf. Ballet BP1 Casting 2223.pdf
