I don't think aileen was suggesting this teacher didn't lead a full life, but she said that there were other instances which she felt suggested mental health issues. Aileen didn't allaborte what these other situations were though. I do know a lot of friends and colleagues who have had mental health issues at some point in their lives, all have them have been different in their behaviours. I didn't read this post to be offensive?

Laines in London associate classes would be ideal for your daughter. Also why not consider excellent structured training where your daughter can still have fun now, this would give her the best chance possible if she was lucky to Persue a future out of it. If you are already in London look up ballet classes on offer eg Anna De Bioson, Russian ballet London, and lots more. Keep the ballet class in the week and see if the ballet school offers graded modern classes. Your daughter can still have fun, but look for good quality classes or your daughter will fall behind the others.

Yes she is, she loved it there last year and has really looked forward to this year, which she is equally enjoying.

I think this year for older UK girls there was only five of them. So a real privilidge to get a place. I have to also add surprisingly for the older girls anyway, there were lots of different shapes and sizes. Clearly the royal SS were not just selecting the very slim girls. I really do not know when making their selections from photographs what they are really looking at. I'm just glad my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her experience there.

Since when has the ballet word ever been fair. It never has and I can't see it changing. The Royal Ballet is for the most elite, we all know this, they can pick and choose who they want but then again so do the other top schools.

No doubt they will all meet up with each other, I know this year quite a few from Central and Tring have gone to the course this year.

Has your daughter gone with friends living the dream? If she is on her own I am sure my daughter would introduce her to her friends.

It was one girl and two boys. Two for upper school one for WL.

Just wondering if anyone children on the forum is attending this course. It starts tomorrow.

I think this year again they have taken two boys and one girl into the upper school. I believe photographs were taken during the course, does anyone know how we get to see them?

Is it maxwells on the corner by The Royal? They do a mixture of good that will accommodate all tastes, they also have a half price menu mid week and that included cocktails.

If there are more boys in that Leeds class then let him go, especially if it is taught my male and female teachers.

The Northern Ballet associates is meant to be very good. There will be more boys and male teachers, so with that in mind if I were you and you happen to be in Leeds anyway it seems too good an opportunity to miss, if that's what your son wants to do all day Saturday. These classes I presume would be more beneficial than exam classes, but if he had the energy and time he could do that one too.

Shame they can't hold both events, now that would be celebrating.

Are you sure that the person who marked was not a tough marker? Also if other people have said that you have good musicality, then it is only the one persons oppinion that you are weaker on this area. A teacher can either make or break a student, be wise and go with what you believe.

I think it sounds like a wonderful opportunity to showcase our best British trained dancers. A fantastic chance to show off our training for a change. It will also be lovely for the schools to work together.

I don't think dancers were as tall or as lean years ago as they are today. A short leg in a high extension doesn't look nice to me.

A lot of these high leg extensions are performed by the long willowy dancers, their legs extend and reach on for ever. To me they look beautiful.

Would your daughter not like to try good ballet schools in Britain too, to increase her chances of getting into a good ballet school at home or abroad?
